Born on 1935, December 31st, the author Harihariah Oruganti, with academic qualifications of B.A., B.L., (Madras University) is in the profession of Fright Forwarding and is happily married. He started the hobby of coin collecting from his tenth year onwards. For the past 25 years he is taking a keen interest in the History of Vijayanagara with special reference to its coinage. He is associated with the following numismatic institutions.

3. Member, Tamil Nadu Numismatic Society, Chennai - 600 002.

The author has so far, contributed around 15 articles to the journals of some of these societies. Tamil Nadu Chapter of INTACH conducted a workshop on Indian Numismatics on 16-17 th March 2000 at Anna University, Chennai where the author presented a paper under the title "Vijayanagara Coins". Vijayanagara Coins from the cabinet of the author was exhibited on many occasions.
